Settle down BV. You are going to have apoplexy (What is that?). I don't care for Dick either but he is not responsible for all those things. The administration and the Congress were set to get a "peace dividend" from the end of the cold war and they legislated it. Of course, all the peaceniks never acknowledged the drawdown and are still saying we need a peace dividend, i.e. all weapons in production and on the drawing boards are unsuitable for current needs since they were designed to fight the Soviets, or the Japanese, Germans, Spanish, or the English whatever. They really don't want to build weapons of any quality and will use any excuse to justify it. Dick Cheney didn't have the power to do all that. He did not object to the reductions, to my knowledge, and implimented what the first Bush administration thought was the best they could get from (a Democratic) Congress, and the taxpayers. Remember, "Bush I" inherited a lot of deficits from the Reagan years. The only thing I can pin on Cheney personally is the A-12. That's enough for me to think he's a lousy executive. I don't hate him, I disagree with his past decision. I hope he does better in the future.
