We left sunny and hot S.C. to come North and visit my wife's daughter and son-in-law in Watertown, NY. SIL just got stationed at Ft. Drum 10th Mountian Unit Division as a medic.

Drove up and stayed in Oldtown, MD with the best friend I ever had in the A.F. He is a retired E-7 like myself. Had a great time at the local VFW killing a few cold ones and telling lies.

We went out to Sackets Harbor on the 4th for a fireworks show. Weather here is only in the low 80's and in the 50's at night. The locals are still complaining about the \"Heat.\" I find that amuzing but if I were here in the winter I know I would turn into a popcicle.

We hope to go Alexandria Bay and catch a boat tour of the Thousand Island region of Lake Ontario. The wife's passport just expired so we will not be going into Canada, maybe next time.

This is a beautiful part of the country. Lots of dairy farms here and just real nice countryside.

I will try and post some pics soon. For some reason my camera battery will not charge. I went and bought a new battery at Best Buy but still a no go. Went to the PX today and got an external charger and I think it is going to work.

Thousand Islands in Ontario was a beautiful place, i was there when i was like 8 years old for a family vacation. I remember staying in a friend of my dads camper in the middle of a beautiful wilderness area. I woke up so early every day just to sit outside the camper and look at the beauty of the area. That is one place that i would love to go back to. Its been 20 years (man i feel old lol)

If you do go i'd love to see pictures.
