Good advice Ice Pirate, I agree.

And heather, you're supposed to buy your dream house later in life. Your first house should be an investment designed to launch you into a better house in about 10-15 years.

You can make a HUGE profit if you buy your house as an investment, not as a final dwelling place.

True but i have to admit i'm not to handy with problems around a house. I can figure out little issues but i'm not sure sure on the big problems.

Hire a retired contractor/handyman to do the repairs. Most families usually have one floating around.

Costs a fraction of what it does to hire a contractor.
