Post subject:  Question to all:Why that Avatar and Signature?
Now almost everybody has a new Avatar and signature is mabye nice to know why some use just that Avatar and Signature. Maybe some answers are very nice or intresting.
I go first with answer that question:
Avatar: Patch of the only European based A-10 squadron, I am from Europe, so the link is there.
Signature: That is more personal. It is the planenumber of the first pre-production A-10 that did his first flight at February 15 1975 at Edwards afb, the day that I was born. Later is that particular plane turned into the only A-10b version.
In 1998 I visit Edwards and saw that plane.

signatureBecuase it's too true to ignore. Politics thing I'm sure I'd get yelled at about, but I voted mostly Libertarian in the last couple of elections, and I will again.

AVATAR:my jet when I was at Osan...the Only A-10 to have a bright ass yellow smiley face...and the topic of morning meetings for the entire time I was there

SIGNTURE: The 70th FS formally of Moody and the 25th at Osan...the two units I was in while on active duty...and the middle pic I just thought was cool...

My Avatar is just a cool Pirate flag gif I found somewhere. Thought it was cool to go along with my handle.

Ice Pirate: I adopted not from that stupid movie, but from the REAL Ice Pirates. The men of the US Navy's DEVRON 6. Though I am retired AF, I currently work for Raytheon Polar Services, and back in the late '90s worked along side the Ice Pirates in Antarctica.

My sig, is a saying from one of the men I supervised as a CATM instructor. I've found that it applies to almost everything from shooting to wood working. \"Slow is Fast, Fast is Slow\" If you slow down, take your time and make your shot count, you'll hit yer target faster than if you just spray and pray. The same holds true for wwing. If I slow down and measure twice, then I only have to cut once and I don't spend so much time having to remake a part.

My avatar is a pic of my jet, 80-0141 moving in to be air refueled via a KC-10.
This pic was taken by myself in June 1983, while enroute back to the USA from the twin bases of Bentwaters/Woodbridge, United Kindom.
Jet & Myself at that time attached to the 75th Flying Tigers, England AFB Louisiana..

No signature as of yet, havent thought of or found a good one that fits me I guess.

Avatar: Yeah i know i don't ahve one yet, so if anyone finds anything appropriate for me (like the punisher logo or a small Porsche symbol feel free to let me know, i've been unsuccesful so far)

Nice to read all the reactions about the avatars and signatures. Some of you are really personal with plane or squadron, others just for fun. And only Racegal8 has a halfnaked (man)body as avatar. 8) Most times you think men do that (with a picture of a lady). :wink:

Avatar: Felt it was time for a change until I can find out what happend to my winking A-10

Signature: Something I made sometime ago, it represents the NVG mission of the A-10 and an slightly altered motto from the 70th FS.

As for the Faugh ah Ballaugh / Clear the way, it was a civil war era motto for the 28th Mass. Volunteer Infantry (part of the Irish Brigade).
