Apparently this guy was hopping on a coffee house's unsecured WiFi and just checking his E-mail from his car. Chief Wiggum saw him and actually did some police work and popped him on a rarely used law.

I think the coffee house should've secured it's stuff. If it's wide open like that, you are just asking people, just driving by, to use your WiFi.

This happened in a town about 10 min north of me. I have a friend who works for the dept. and he tells me the cheif is really putting himself over for this. He really is a classic Cheif Wiggum.

I did something like that by accident, with my new laptop & wireles internet...I acidentally picked someone else's Wifi from a list of available networks.

Not only was it the wrong connection, but it was just barely within range and made me surf at least as fast as with dialup.
