Ok hoglets I have really been bitten by the bicycling bug. I trained for and finished a 140 mile, two day trek from Columbia SC to Charleston, SC in the middle of Tropical Storm Barry.

I managed to raise a respectable $350.00 for the American Diabetes Association. This is a charity close to my heart as my dad and I both are Type II diabetics.

Now for the new challange I have undertaken. It is called the \"Breakaway to the Beach\" Sept 15-16. It is a 150 mile bicycle ride that is held over two days in Myrtle Beach SC. I may even attempt to do a century ride (100miles) the first day depending on several factors such as the temp, and my fitness level and how I feel. That would mean I would ride 100 miles the first day and 75 the second. Still continplating this one.

I have taken on this new challange for the Multiple Sclerosis Society for a few reasons. Not the least of which is MS struck my family many years ago. My father in law suffered from MS for over 20 years till his death in 2003. Also one of our very own hoglets is living with MS and I will be riding for him as well.

Now for the challange to you fellow hoglets. If you could, I ask that you make a donation to the MS Society via the webpage I am providing. All donations go directly to the MS Society. I paid my own registration fees and also paying for my accomodations in Myrtle Beach. I do not recieve any of the donations, 100 percent goes directly to the MS Society.

The website is set up to make it real easy for you to donate on-line. I am hoping to raise at least $500.00 however I must raise at least $200.00 to participate. If I don't raise the minimum amount I will make up the difference out of my own pocket.

Most people that donated to the diabetes ride I did donated $25.00. Not a small amount for some but not to much for most. So if you heart leads to donate please do and if not thanks for at least visiting the website.
