I heard that the Re-Org (back to the future) was on hold as of now? Any of you active duty guys heard anything about it?

I read an article on aim points the other day that talked about it was on hold until they reevaluated the decision....

Yeah, the latest re-org is on hold pending review by new AF leadership. There is an article about it in the current AF Times. I have heard, though, that some overseas bases have already re-organized. I guess we will find out sooner or later (probably later) what the final plan will be. Then in 5 years, we can change it around again.

What now? They going back too \"TAC, SAC and MAC\"? Or is it going to be the Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Army Airforce again????

Or \"Each base has its own \"Military\"??

Gates doesn't like the USAF I feel too much.

I'm still not sure why they changed it from TAC/MAC/SAC to begin with. :-/

Goose, the re-org of which I speak is the one that does away with AMXS and lets each fighter squadron be independent. The FS commander has ops and maintenance under his control.

I feel sure you will never see TAC/SAC/MAC again.

Didn't they have that in the 90's in some form or another???

After working in \"CAMS, OMS, AGS, and the \"NEW AGS/OMS\" concept at Travis ???( I never really figured it out) I liked the \"AGS/AMU\" way the best.
Then when you went TDY you fell under the TFS but you always had \"AMU \" supervision as a \"Firewall\"

But then again the \"Squadron\" (AMU/TFS) would throw\"Parties Together\" because we were \"Family\".

Does it feel like that now?

When I came in back in '01, crew chiefs, weapons and specs fell under the FS. The backshops fell under a seperate unit...CRS I believe, which also answered to the Ops Group. In July of '02 we re-organized to the Maintenance Group, with the AMUs under the AMXS, and the backshops falling under either 1 or (depending on size) squadrons. That is how it works right now...we will see how things go, though. I know we have our own re-org, aside from ops/mx going on here...

That would of been like ,

AGS, CRS,EMS, AMS and then the AMU's fell under AGS.

There has been so many \"Re-Orgs\" its hard to keep track.
