Goose, No one was hurt. Apparently one of the F-16's from the 388th had an IFE with an engine problem. Their procedures had the pilot clean off external stores and return to base. The pilot dropped the wing tanks and 2 Mk 82 off the jet in a open area on the base. The word we are hearing right now is that one of the 82's detonated when it hit a metal shack and the other one is 17 ft under the ground. They plan on destroy it in place saturday morning (24th). The 82 that went off knocked out power to parts of the base for a number of hours. They havent said where exactly where the bombs/tanks hit but from the decsription of the areas of the base that had been closed it was less than a mile from my house!
