Has anyone ever been to Atlantic City?

I was there years ago, but never overnight in one of their glitzy hotels. I will be taking my boyfriend down overnight Thursday as a birthday surprise. I'm hoping we will be able to pick up some house money! (keep your fingers crossed for us)

I know how to play the slot machines and i've played blackjack and poker with friends. Should i avoid trying the tables, are they just a huge waste of money unless you are a professional?

Racegal, Never been to Atlantic City, but the blackjack tables in Vega$ have been good to me over the years. You just have to remember to only take what you're willing to lose. If and when you get your initial investment back, put it in your pocket and play with their money..

I'm not impressed with AC. Once you get away from the strip it's pretty seedy so there's not much to do other than gamble. You might want to see what's available for shows, they're usually a pretty good time and you can find good deals that sometimes includes dinner.

If you're going to play any of the table games, Blackjack offers the best odds and it's what I play when we go to the casinos..I think it's around 51/49 in favor of the house. Set a loss limit and if you reach that, walk away. It's easy to lose track of how much you're spending..they use chips for a reason.

With all that, go, have a good time and enjoy yourselves.

Mathmatically, craps offer the most fair odds for the player. But, that only applies when you only play the come line and points with full odds and stay away from the bets in the middle of the table.

Roulette and keno are house money makers, stay away. Blackjack with a six deck shoe is a crapshoot (pun intended), you have no idea what is coming next. You have to be very disciplined and know the theoretical odds cold to even have a chance to win in the long run. If you can play on a table with only one deck, then that can be a pretty fair shake for the player. But those tables usually require a fairly high minimum bet.

Good luck!

Well i admired the tables but that's about it I didn't know there were so many different forms of poker. Lol, guess i still have a lot to learn.

I play some of the slots and had a great time, unfortunately i didn't win the thousands of dollars that i was hoping but i had fun.

Been to AC twice...probably never go back. First time too many crazies that never left me alone while on the boardwalk. Second time was my own fault...a hurricane was coming up the east coast so most places were already boarded up so it was a wasted trip for me...and all I wanted was a crab cake sandwich from one of the boardwalk bars (can't remeber its name).

Give me Vegas anyday! :)

I was in AC last summer for a concert, and walked the board walk.

Seems about the same as when i was a kid.
