Turn on any news channel right now. He was killed by either a bomb or a bullet outside a mansion in Pakistan about a week ago, and dna testing has confirmed it's him.

They aren't the only ones who can patiently execute an op. With an execution. Now the conspiracists can have a hayday. Fact remains their strategic figurehead is gone.

And they had the intention to kill him. Not take him prisoner. Downsides were one Blackhawk had to be abandoned and destroyed, and either bin laden, his son that was there, or either of his goons that were guarding the compound grabbed a woman & used her as a shield, costing her life as well.

Does this mean we can leave Afghanistan now?
I never thought this would happen, and I'm certainly not trying to shit on anyone's parade (because irrelevant or not to the \"war\", the world is a better place without Osama Bib Laden), but aside from a figurehead standpoint, how does this matter? It's not like we just won the war, or the other side is going to give up...
You know what I mean? It's good news... but so what?

20 navy seals of the group that killed Osama are died in helicopter crash.
It is the biggest loss since 2001. 31 US soldiers and 7 Afghan troopers.

Also those responsible for downing the Chinook were killed by an airstrike. If the pakdefense site taught us anything, it's that the taliban bragged their asses off about it and made themselves even easier to find.
