Just got a new upper for my AR. My first flat top. I go to mount the red dot sight I have on top and the dot is right in the middle of the back of the A frame.

Whats worse is that it's so low I can't even get my eye in line with it. Really regreting going with the flat top right now.
So I either have to buy a riser to get it up high enough, or buy the clamp on Carry handle and mount on top of that with the A.R.M.S mount I currently have on my old A1 upper. Thats the one I can't take to public ranges.

Who ever said that size doesn't matter?
So, no, I didn't do my homework fully. I didn't know you have to have a special riser for each optic sight you use. I do like the M4 style barrel though. The necked down portion, origonally intended for mounting the M-203, is a perfect place to use the old clothes pin style stamped metal bi-pod.
