So i have a 2008 dodge Avenger R/T and its giving me problems.

Today, the car worked great i have not been having issues at all. I drove to work, i went on break at 1pm and drove to the bank then back to work to finish out my day. At 5:00 when i went to leave i couldn't shift the car out of park, i turned it off, and restarted it. (starts up fine) and same issue. I did check the break lights as suggested and they work fine.

I have a tow truck that is local come out and he pops the console around my shifter and has me slide my fingers in to hold down a switch to get it out of park and in to drive so i can get it to a dealership. Problem is the local dodge dealer no longer does warranty work, so now i'm driving 40 minutes away to a place that can't even look at it until friday...ugh.

Im so stressed out and fed up, anyone have any idea what i'm in for with this one?

So after doing some internet research it seems like this is a common problem for the 2008 model year....I found one website with several pages of people complaining about this very same issue.

I'm just worried that they are going to \"fix\" the problem at the dealer and then in 5000 miles its going to happen again. The worst part is that i will have it paid off next month.....

all fixed, but from what i read this is going to keep happening. I traded it in this weekend.
