Post subject: | Car Issue |
So after having a terrible day at work i leave and drive to the store and turn on my AC for the 2nd time this year. Only to find that my car is now making some strange noises. The shop can't see it until wednesday but the AC compressor isn't someting i'm all that familiar with so if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Normally i can't hear to much in my car because of my CD's, but after driving for a bit i made a left turn and noticed a loud squealing. The squealing was not from the breaks. My Dodge Avenger only has 6,900 miles and is less then a year old. I drove home fine but every time i turned i heard liquid sloshing around. There is nothing leaking that i saw and no puddles under my car so i'm not 100% sure what is going on. Any suggestions? |

Did you check your power steering fluid level? |

Yeah the PS fluids is full, like i said it just started when i turned on the AC, so i'm thinking some sort of a belt...but i'm just frustrated at this point. lol I've had the car for less then a year. |

Aaah, squealing, I was thinking more like a wrrrring. How's the belt tension? Then I would check the pulley condition on the AC compressor. |

Not sure about the sloshing-- is that the open beer in your lap?? ![]() As for the squealing, sounds like a belt issue- I once had a pulley get BENT and it caused issues-- expensive ones! So you may want to check to see if your pulleys are all in line. But under a year old, whatever it is, shouldn't it be under warranty?? |

Yeah sounding like a liquid sloshing but only when the AC was on. I'm not familiar with the whole AC/heating area of the car but i can check most of the other things thanks to Sniper! I was thinking belt too and that what i told the guy when i dropped it off at the dealership. Yeah it is still under warranty. At least now i can get the recall taken care of and my inspection out of the way...yay...lets just drop a ton of money all at once (pure sarcasm) I'll keep you guys posted, they have it but aparently arn't working on it until tomorrow, for now i have a loaner car....its ugly and i don't want to drive it lol. |

All good, apparently there was just a clog in the drain so the fluid was building up and had no where to go. |

Thank god for warranties. I would never want to do that job myself. Sounds like one of those \"Take the dashboard apart\" ordeals. |
