If you have access to this month's Airman magazine, check out the column in the back. It's a story about AMARC (or whatever it's called now) and how they save money. Of interest was the story about fuel foam and how they're saving the government money by buying the \"bullet proof\" foam in bulk and cutting the shapes themselves.

BULLET PROOF? No wonder it costs so much.

Hmm, they must be getting \"Ballistic Foam\" and \"Bullet Proof\" Fuel Foam confused.

Yeah they are talking about ballistic foam. The depot gets it in BIG blocks and cuts it with either a band saw or an electric turkey carving knife. Bulletproof? LOL Hardly.

Not surprisingly, this is the same organization that has, on several occasions, published a picture of an A-10 banking and releasing a flare with a caption that states it is \"shooting a missile.\"

Motto of SAF/PA...\"Why bother with details?\"

Cheers! M2
