Ok I'm bored,

I ran across this site and was browsing their board when a question on how many aircraft were lost?

They have a list of \"Supposedly All Fixed Wing Aircraft Lost or Damaged\"

What do you guys think?

http://www.desert-storm.com/

http://www.sci.fi/~fta/atrition.htm

is the thread one of the answers.

It's been a long time visiting here, sorry.

On my site http://www.pats-world.com/gulfwar/ I have a list of all BD A-10's, and the 4 that were shot down and lost in combat: 800248, 790130, 780722, 760543. The list of BD aircraft and the ones lost is accurate.

Thanks jack I've kind of neglected it over the years, spending most of my free time (haha) and energy on my VFW Post 10216 and F-106 Delta Dart sites

Thanks Pat, You Guys did a \"Hell of a Job\" on our Jets during those days on South Ramp.
It was amazing to alot of us \"Crew Chiefs\" on how fast you had \"80-0186\" back in the Air and the \"EL-NO or NO-EL\" Joke that came about from taking that Vertical Stab off of the Cajun Jet. [lol] [lol] [lol] [lol] [lol]

Great Job

Thanks Goose. Ahhh those were the days, the days of maintenence when you didn't use a TO [rolleyes] [lol] no not true, the ADBR TO, the -10, was our bible. Yea 186 came together pretty well, even with a canned vert :P we even used it as the backdrop for a reenlistment of one of the guys.

Those were some \"Good Days\" when you did \"What ever it took\" to get the Job done.
Not like now where it seems taking a \"Part\" to get a jet in the Air gets you Prison time or Kicked-out.

Hey Pat I always wanted to ask you \"Did you ever get any pic's of the MAV in the Revetment wall or know someone who did??\"

No, man I wish I had of gotten a pic of that MAV, and a sound byte too :) it make a hell of a sound firing AND hitting the wall. I have never heard of anyone having a shot of that.

I have heard from several folks even ones who weren't there that day they saw the pictures of it in the wall.
I had one of my guys working with me in \"C-BLOCK (Cell Block [lol] ) take a picture as \"Gus\" drove us by .
But never did see any pictures and it's still one of the \"Shhhhh!\" in the USAF.

You think it was \"LOUD\" where you were I was in \"C\" revetment(Cell Block) Charlie Area, we were caddy corner from it about 2 areas south of it .
So we could see out our west corner space.

Went it went \"OFF\" it blew rocks , sand and Smoke every where in on us.
We thought it was a \"Attack\" so we hit the dirt and put on our Chem Masks.
It wasn't until about 10mins later Gus came by and said \"Goose , You guys all need to get in the Truck some \"Dumbass just put a MAV in the wall\".

So we piled in the truck and of course drove down past it. Until the SP's ran us off.

You Know EOD or someone from \"AGS super (South Ramp) has to have a picture of it. Yougblood sent me pic's of the \"Wall\" roped off days later with the \"Hole\" in it but no MAV.

You ever \"Score a picture\" Please post it here and if I \"Score\" one I'll send it to you Bro.

I owe you one from fixing that \"Termite\" damage on 0166's #1 engine Cowling on the 26th of February. It still is on the Jet today it was that good of a fix.

I was the crew-chief on 0248, and have photos if you'd like. And it's been a *LONG* time since I've been on here.

No, I was working swings/mids that day. I don't know who launched 248 that day, if it was my ACC, or someone else. The way we worked them then, it was pretty much you went to your box and worked whatever was there.

And your dad made Chief? Wow! It's been a *LONG* time since I've heard the name Stakes. It took me a minute to picture your dad, but I believe I can put a face with the name, now.

It's been a while yet again, but I'll get what I've got together, and will send them your way. I've got photos of it in the "sandbox" I worked, including a photo of the only battle damage it received until it was shot down. Had a small dent on the leading edge of the left horizontal stab. Also got a photo of it going through hot pits the first week of the war when I was hot pit super.

Hey! I'll try and get on here a little more often. My excuse before was I was still on dial-up, and it took too long for pages to load. That's no longer the case, so I have no excuse now. <G>

I just reread what you posted, and now I realize from what you said that it was your dad that launched 248! I'm sorry I misread what you posted.

I probably knew who launched 248 out that day at one time, but it's been 18 years since all that took place, so my memory fails me a bit more than it used to. I turned 50 this summer.

You know the three signs of old age? The first sign is loss of memory. I forget what the other two are.
