A couple of weeks back at Nellis AFB during Red Flag 03-09, I stumbled over this ID Hog as well. Didn't noted at first but when checking the pictures at home I found these markings which are new to me. Would be nice if some of you could help out.

124MXG = 124FW maintenance Group?

Cheers, André

You are right, André. 124th Maintenance Group (124th MXG), currently commanded by Col. Robert Park. But I'm surprised by the white shaddow, in contrast to the other markings which are only black.

Kind Regards

This may have originaly been a Bradley jet beacuse at Barnes we have 78-630 along with 78-632 and theres mostly ended in odd numbers where ours were even although we did have a few when they came right off the line.

What's the mystery, here? The 124th Wing is the Idaho Air National Guard wing at Boise. The Maintenance Group would be the 124 MXG.

Don't think the prob was with the numbering, that was obvious, more with the letters 'MXG', I haven't seen that before.........maybe I should get out more.

No mystery, just that I haven't seen the 124 (or any) MXG title on a Hog tail before. Might be me though.

So far it was mainly FW, FS or OG. Right?

I remember seeing an Ellington, TX F-16C with MG title before where MG meant Maintenance Group as well. Sadly this unit was axed by BRAC. :?

The white undershadowing isn't uncommon. DM uses it on the WG/CC, SQ/CC, etc jets.

I guess it's safe to assume the the MXG/CC is a rated pilot there in Idaho.
