I know I'm gonna sound stupid askng this, but what does the V stand for?? If it's personal you don't have to answer or you can just pm me....just wondering

While deployed to Kuwait in 1996 we had a fellow crew chief get killed in a mishap, the V was the first letter of his last name and was put on all the ladder doors in memorial.
