Maybe this has been posted here before, but since I'm new...
I am not a superstitious person, but I do know that there are weird things
that happen around aircraft that make us rub their belly's, hang a rabbits foot in the cockpit, paint big red balls on the side of the jet, (to snub our noses at the bad mojo), we believe in gremlins etc..

My father-in-law was with us one morning launching a Dehavilland Venom, (airshow), that developed a fuel leak. There was some gate valve or some crap that the pilot said might be the problem, so I did the old bang a chock on the wing thing, and it stopped. So it taxi's out. My guys get in the truck and are glad that the last jet is going home. Then my father in law says:
It aint in the air yet! EVERYONE in the truck heard it, and stopped talking,
I turn to him and start chewing him, \"Leonard, you NEVER say anything like that, EVER! We all know what happens next, the jet waddles back to us, pissing fuel all over the place. He was pretty proud of himself for
breaking the jet.

One more- I was assisting on a B-1 launch with a good friend of mine.
As we were waiting for the crew, I told Joey that it was really boring around here and we needed a good fire to shake things up. No sooner
than the words left my mouth, we hear a loud BANG! (no power, apu's,
etc..all quiet). We start looking around, and on top of the wing we find a spring panel, (its under pressure), had popped, and was all buckled up.
Needless to say, that jet didn't fly that day, and Joey would stop saying:
\"I can't believe you said that, you broke my jet!\" over and over, until I
almost started to feel bad. (almost)

Any more old women's scary stories out there?

Steve

Hey, Diceman, I'd be happy to send you the art for the Green Demons emblem or the A-10 profile of 666 if you want to spruce up your page. Just email me.

Yeah Dice that is a good one. When 166 was going through WS 23 mod a few years ago I heard that I might be getting 666's refurbed wings. I'm glad I didnt. I mean with all the hack work Goose had done years before, and wings from that thing, I was sweatin it. Of course bro, I say all that with the greatest love.
