OK, while this is about a patch; it is an operational question for the folks at Moody...

Hopefully someone there will be able to explain this patch...

Is it some kind of dig at the 75 FS? Was there some incident where the 74th had to provide jets for the 75th, or something similar? I was hoping someone from Moody might know...

Well, I got this reply on another forum...

It is a joke patch made up for the 74th FS while they were at Pope AFB, NC. When I was stationed there at Pope there was a pretty healthy rivalry between the two A-10 squadrons and if you're in ACC you can pretty much make up whatever patches you want and wear them esp on Fridays.

Can anyone confirm that?

That's what is supposed to mean, that the 74th does the 75ths work, but it's kind of EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE. FUCK THE 74TH.
They don't do shit, especially not the 75ths work. Every single exercise we had leading up to out last ORI, as soon as we were done with our cell, guess which squadron 75th personnel got farmed out to do more work for? I swear I've done more work on 74th jets than my own AMUs.
If I saw someone in the 74th wearing that patch, I'd probably punch them in the face. Or maybe drive over them in a coleman.
