Post subject: | A-10 Applicant requesting Advice/Input |
I am applying to a Air National Guard A-10 squadron, and wanted to humbly request any advice/input possible to help prepare myself for the interview. I am somewhat familiar with the process and understand the basics. I just want to maximize my resources and check in with all of you to get nuggets of wisdom, do's and don'ts, or anything to start thinking about. A little background....I am a 300 hour commercial/instrument SEL rated pilot with a Masters in Aviation Safety. |

I applaud your creativity in trying to get an advantage over the competition however this topic has been covered time and again. I suggest you start reading through the old posts, you'll find lots of info there and really, nothing has changed between then and now. OC |

Thanks OC. I have gone a ways back, haven't made it all the way yet. But wanted to toss it out there since many post seemed older and wasn't sure if anything had changed. Again, thanks for the nuggets up |

It's simple, just stroll up in there. I mean walk straight up to the CO's desk. Now remember don't knock or anything, unless you want to knock over his cup of coffee. And if you do that, make sure to knock it on his lap. Then lean over his desk and say, \"I'm the badest M***F*** you've very seen. I like you, I'd be willing to fly your planes. When I'm not too busy.\" Then tell him you might be able to schedule it in once a month or something. Then slam you resume on his desk and walk out. Your resume should just have a picture of your face on it and the words: \"call me.\" As your walking out, look over your shoulder and say, \"Oh, and I need your daughters' phone number, all of them.\" And put on your sunglasses. This is pretty much standard procedure for getting a fighter pilot slot. |
