I'm wondering how cell phones are managed on todays flightlines. I mean when I was in cameras were not allowed on the line without a letter but, today cell phones have better cameras than most 35mm of yesterday did and everyone has one so...what's the rules out there with cell phone cameras?

Well, cell phones period aren't allowed on the flightline. So it should be a moot point. That being said, they are all over the flightline. How else are you supposed to call the expeditor or whoever when your out there? As for pics, I just make sure the flash is off and keep an eye out for SFS. I used a real camera at Eielson and Korea because a) we were in pens and flash/cops wasn't an issue, and b) I didn't own a cell that had a camera at the time. I only took cell pics at Moody, never real camera pics. |

That's the way it is here at the depot, no photos allowed but cell phones are everywhere with cameras, make sure the flash is off and do a quick scan of the area before taking a picture.

Sad but true...I remember the days when the expeditor actually drove around the line so we wouldn't have to chase them down...those days are over. Or just walkto the smoke pit because most of the time that's where he's at....
