Hi. I'm an A-10 enthusiast that has enjoyed reading the posts on this forum for quite some time now. I hope I'm putting this post in the correct spot, so please move it if I haven't. I'm helping build a 1/18 scale A-10 model and was wondering if someone here could help me clear up a technical question. Is the published length of the A-10, 53' 4", measured from gun tip to tail tip or is that from nose tip to tail tip? I want to make sure that I'm accounting for the dimensions correctly so nothing else is thrown off in other areas. I've measured the deminsion on the different scale models I have and compared, but I would like to make sure my free hand measurements aren't misleading me.. ![]() Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me with this question and thank all of you that have or are serving this country......your service is greatly appreciated!!! |

That would be with the gun included. "Published" is for people like you who do models and other A-10 related items. Sounds like a nice project would love to see some pics of the build and the finished product. ![]() |

According to the 2-1-1, 53' 4" is NOT counting the gun. STA 130 -> STA 761 = 53' 4" ![]() Now, I suppose if you want to be super technical, you could ask "does that count the tail position light?" It doesn't say, but my educated guess on that is "no" as well. (Same goes for the wingtip position lights) |

Thank you for the responses and information. That drawing helps without a doubt. When this project gets to rolling, I'll post some pictures of what we were able to do. Again, thank you...... ![]() |
