My brother is in Afghanistan right now and said that he found a casing from an A-10. I can't find anywhere that tells me how big these things are. Any help?

The cartridge casing is 30mm at the neck and 173mm in length.

Where did he "find" a casing? They are not ejected from the aircraft after firing so someone must have given it to him..if it's an A-10 case.

Somebody must have a friend that is a weapons loader or works in the bomb dump. Customs will rip you a new one if you are caught with it.

Hmmmmmmmmm,

I wouldn't know anything about anything of the sort!!!
(looks around for Customs....) j/k

Yeah, make sure you tell him he probably won't be able to bring those home. Let's just say some people almost "threw down" when they were told they had to leave 'em behind.
