Then, was in Louisiana a week ago, and watched the Saturday morning briefing, and saw him live. Wasn't sure if it was him by the name only, as I didn't know his first name. I didn't realize he went by his middle name. But, as soon as I saw the briefing, I knew it was him. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I hadn't seen him in years, but other than the fact he's about 13 years older than when I saw him last, and he's <b>bald</b>, he looks and acts pretty much like the "Mean Gene" we all remember. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> -=> coming to you "almost live" from Searcy, Arkansas <=- |

LOOKS GOOD WITH THOSE 2 STARS DOESNT HE? THEY DID THAT ARTICLE LAST YEAR ON "SUNRAY" IN LEGION MAGAZINE. HE HAS COME A LONG WAY. HIM AND "COOP" WERE GOOD OP'S COMMANDERS PRESS TO TEST |

He had a spell at Bentwaters as an IP with the 92nd TFS 'Skulls', in the early days of the Hog in USAFE service......ooh dear, that info not 'opsec' is it? I think he is the best of the spokesmen, Vinny Brookes is way too serious. Interested to know why he is known as 'Mean Gene'......is he a complete b*****d or is he tight with his money (For certain members who are bereft of humour, that last line was a joke) |

Again, I don't know if that's the tie-in, but that's my suspicion. While there were some pilots you dreaded having to launch out (two former vice wing commanders come to mind), "Mean Gene" wasn't one of those.
