Hi all,

I am a "virtual pilot" that loves the hog and soon there will be a new sim with the A-10 modelled. I still do not how real will be the plane simulated but would like to start getting as much info as possible about the operating procedures for the A-10. I would like to learn as much as possible to make it for the sim.
Do not even know where can I get info of the cockpit.
I have found just a few links about this and wonder if this info is accesible (by legal ways) ;) and where can I get it.
I would like to make the "operation procedures for the A-10 for the LOMAC" based on the real ones. That includes, take-offs, landings, failures, etc etc am I dreamming? :)

Thanks in advance

Farris

PD: I have found a spanish company that makes ACES II replicas. They made the ACES II replica for the F-16, but really do not know if it´s the same. If interested, the link is : http://www.emycsa.es/sim/html/seat.htm

Welcome. You mentioned LOMAC, so I'll refer you to Dice, our resident old-timer <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>, who also happens to be part of the team working on LOMAC. Dice, the stage is all yours...

Hello,

I am sure Dice you can´t say anything but I wonder a few things....I am sure the A-10 in LOMAC will be the most closed thing to the real one, but this is the reason I am trying to get as much info as possible. LOMAC is based on Flanker, therefore, avionics and some other things are more or less already known, at least for the flanker community, but, F-15 and A-10 are new planes and that´s the reason I would like to learn whatever will help me later on with the LOMAC, is on the net some info about A-10 procedures that will be usefull later? will real procedures help us to fly A-10 in combat? and the last one :) sure you can´t answer, is there gonna be in LOMAC a big big big manual?? :)

Best regards from spain,

Farris

Thanks BiggRoss!

Farris, fist I'm under a Non-discloure Agreement (NDA) and can't say anything about the sim not posted on the main LOMAC site ( http://www.lo-mac.com )

As far as real world tatics working in the sim I also don't think they willl work very well and they are also classified. I don't know anywhere on the web that talks about A-10 tatics past or present ...sorry.

A sim will throw more at you in one mission than in 10 real world A-10 missions, thanks God. You must learn the sim and paly it from there.

As for the cockpit, LOMAC will not have a clickable cockpit so learning the layout of a real A-10 will do you no good in game. All fuctions will be done by keyboard command so you will have to wait for the game to come out to learn the fuctions.

Sorry I know I was not much help but you can alway come onto the LOMAC forums to ask any other questions you may have about LOMAC.

About the Spanish ACESII-seat...

I'm working on a homebrew Hog-pit and was looking to that seat as well.... it looks great but it's so expensive :-(

It's a Viper-Aces and that seat is almost the same as used in the Hog, there are some small differences in details (eject handle) but the major difference is the stand of the chair. As you all know Viper-jocks are sissy-boys that lay back in their seat while their white gloves enter data in their computer systems :-)

the Hog-Aces got a different angle of stand... more right up.. talking about this: does anyone know what the angle of the Aces in the Hog is?
