My dream...well, I was thinking today (I know, don't do that often, was bored at work...with the IG inspection passed have lots of extra time). About what you may be asking (or not, I am after all one of the moderators which makes me an "enemy"). Ok...enough of me "talking" to myself...

I know it is impossible, but aren't all "dreams" impossible at one time or another...so I figured why not try...I want to get a squadron coin (prefereably two) from EVERY A-10 unit past & present...active units and inactive. I know, you're thinking "Damn prk has lost his damn mind" (ask Dice, he knew me 8 years ago when I was an 18 year old a-10 crew dog straight out of tech school, he knows I never had a mind to loose ) The inactive units are far fetched, I know...but the current units (if they even have coins) shouldn't be to hard...

Ok, my reason for wanting to do this, besides being one of the biggest A-10 fans/lovers/enthusiasts (in my opinion anyways) I just want them...but a more meaningful reason is for "Historical Value" Dice may do a book someday...a book by a person who loves the A-10 as much, wait, more than I do, and someone who has great knowledge of the airframe. So, besides a TON of pictures I know dice has, what better to display in the book than pictures of squadron coins, unit patches, and stuff like that. I'm in the process of collecting ALL the armour A-10s. Eventually, when I buy a house I will have a room TOTALLY devoted to the A-10, only things not A-10 related will be my TV, computer, and any other electronic equipment...

Any help in this venture is greatly appreciated, especially since most of my friends/contacts in units I don't hear from anymore...I have coins for the no deactivated 70th FS from moody, the 25th FS from Osan (both versions from when I was there 97-98, the Chiefs free one sided coin & the two sides "pay extra for me" coin ) and the coin from "Thunder" at Nelis. Money isn't an issue...will pay for coin(s) & shipping...Thanks ya'll...

I have a dream too, but I doubt I will ever see an A10 on catapult #1 with gaggles of GBU-12s flying an alpha strike with F-14s. but I can help ya with yours. I can get you coins from the 104th FW at Barnes ANGB in Mass. and I can score a coin from OIF and I may be able to dig one up from our activation during Kosovo when we teamed up with Battle Creek and Boise. That was a tough war that Kosovo thing. Two months in Trapani, Siciliy, $ 82.00 dollars a day perdium and all the pizza you could eat in your hotel. Ah the memories..............

I've already put pen-to-paper, or is that finger to keyboard? Dice...don't worry...LOMAC will be on my computer at home...also my screensaver at home (and work) are all the hog pictures I have collected over the years...our QA Branch Chief from time to time will just come watch my screensaver and look at the pictures. I'll have to take pictures of my cubical sometime and post them for ya'll...work at a depot that works F15s, C141s, C5s, C17s, & C130s, but 98% of my pictures are of A10s

Thanks anyways goose...I'm not even sure how far this will go, but I'm gonna do my best. Sending emails out to a few friends tomorrow that are stationed at various active units (DM & Osan to be exact). I am sure people I know are at Pope, just don't know for sure...lost contact with so many people...and I don't have any connections with reserve/guard units...

Yes sir, I will gladly send you our F-15 QA coin...plus we have some new ones in the works that I'll send out once they arrive (this goes for Hawg166 too, I've been waiting for the coins to arrive, they are taking longer than I thought)...Anyone that helps me out I have planned from the start to send our coins in return...currently we just have an F-15 QA coin, but we have a new F-15, C-130, & ACFT QA Coin being made as we speek...those will also be included or sent at a later date....
