Very nice. I like always the old WW2 jokes on the planes. Also great in paint and so shining. Is it a good museum? What is the rarest plane in their collection? |

Wow Dice, that museum sure has grown since I left there in 1989. Back then they didn't even had a building to house any of the aircraft in. Thanks for the photos, always nice to see some classic artwork. |

Dutchy, I also love WWII nose art, I think that's why I enjoy A-10 door art so much. I don't know what their rarest plane is, I would guess either the SR-71, or one of the six pre-production A-10A, or B-1B, or one of the two B-17Gs, or their ICBM collection, or....well you get my point. ![]() Hawg166, that's on a F-111. Hitler, you would not believe the improvments they have made! ![]() |

Dice-Man, wich one is that pre-production A-10? If you want to see more WW2 arts you must visit the AirForce Museum in Dayton,Ohio. They got the B-29 \"Boxcar\". |

Dutchy, they have 73-0666 (cool) which was used for sub-system and weapons delivery accuracy testing. It has no art on either the door or the aircraft itself but, I'm hoping to change that soon. The ladder door has been painted gray but if you look at it from an angle you can still see some art work which was painted over. I'm trying to work with the museum to allow me to try to recreate the art. I'm hoping to be able to do a charcoal rubbing to bring out the detail and then trace the original art and repaint it. It looks to be a pitchfork with the numbers 666 in flames, I'll post updates here if the project goes through. |
