Just wondering what regulations other units have about door art? Until about a year ago we could put anything we wanted on our jets but now it's a kinder, gentler, more sensitive Air Force! The art has to be "Gender Neutral, Non-Offensive, and have nothing to do with Death" ie, Grim reaper etc. We are supposed to get permission before we put on new art. We did that for awhile but as the saying goes...."It's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission"! Now we just change it at will and wait to see if anyone complains about it! Most of us Use vinal stick-ons now so it's not a cost issue if you have to tear one off! Just wondering what rules any other bases have on this? We at BC. were the "Cereal Killers" for a long time Because we live in "Cereal City" where Kelloggs and post factories are. But now we can't use that saying because the Jag, PA office and whoever else decided that the "Killers" part was portraying a negative message! What the Heck do they think we do for a living??? All this P.C. crap is making me sick!! |

At Osan you had to get permission form the Commander before you paint your door. I heard here at Eielson you don't have to ask for permission, so I'm not gonna. "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than beg for permision." As for that whole non-offensive blah blah blah rule, thats BULLSHIT! PC run amock, nothing makes me madder. Well, maybe liberal's but PC and liberals are one and the same. but, thats a topic for the general chat/politics forum. Hogfixer2001, you can find you commands reg on nose art in ANGI-21-105, hit the find button and type-in nose art. As far a unit regs go I have no idea....been out of the field to long. Ugly But Well Hung |

Are Nose art and Ladder door art considered the same? |

Each command looks at door art different, one says ANY non-standard marking placed inside or outside an aircraft panel is nose art. Others say in their reg only non-standard markings on the ouside of the aircraft or forward of the cockpit is nose art so, the ladder door doesn't fall into this. The only command to outlaw any and all "specialized artwork" (on fighters/attack aircraft anyway) is ACC and they include the statment "no wavers will be entertained" in the reg to put the final nail in this coffin. Of course Pope has a waiver for the shark-teeth. Ugly But Well Hung |

I thought I read that after the "Let's Roll" emblem was designed, that evey squadron was authorized to put it on one 1 jet in the squadron, normally the squadron flagship, or the group, or wing one if applicable. It's on 81-0995 here, which is the wing commanders jet. I cant remember which flagship it was on at Osan, but I do remember it was on one of the commanders jets (we had a 51FG, 51FW, and 7AF {at least I think we wee the 7th there, I cant remember hahaha} commanders jets there.) At Pope I believe it was on one of the demo jets. There are 10 kinds of people in the world: Those who understand Binary, and those who don't. |

By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |
