On 3 January 2010, the Tactical Air Control Party career-field took a devastating hit. As a JTAC team embedded with an
infantry company walked on a combat patrol near Kandahar, Afghanistan they were ambushed by numerous enemy soldiers.
SrA Bradley Smith was mortally wounded during this ambush and his ROMAD, A1C Mike Malarsie, was seriously injured.

At this time the TACP Association is calling on all of their brothers, friends, and family to lend a helping hand where you can.
We are working hand in hand with the families that have suffered this great loss, and doing what we can to make the transition
as smooth as possible.

SrA Smith arrived in the states today. Funeral details to be announced soon.

My wounded troop has arrived in Germany, but a new CAT scan of his right eye (he already lost the left eye) showed metal in it, so they immediately put him on a plane to Walter Reed where they have an eye specialist waiting for him.

SrA Smith's funeral was a fitting tribute. It was very well done and the support from the Troy community was awesome.
