Hey anyone from this forum belong to the 355 in Davis Monthan??? I'm prior service and ive been assigned there. I'm coming from the infantry, and decicded it was time to settle down and get a real job. I'm currently in tech school for aerospace propulsion along with a former marine that is heading to dm with me. Were just looking for anyone stationed there. |

I was apart of the 355th at Myrtle Beach From 87-91. I was a crewchief on 688 . Does anyone have a pic of my baby? God I miss that job . Good luck guys kick some sadam butt. |

I was with the 354th EMS. Phase section, Panther Dock Nov 84-Nov 86. Our Dock cheif was Max Santiago and Sammy Jones was the phase supervisor. I did not care for that guy. I designed and buit the phase flow board that was in the Panther phase dock house. I had an old friend that was at DM. Wayne Davis was his name, and he was an Eng Troop/Crew Dog. Tech you worked for that crook Don Urban? I used to shoot with him in the Sufside blackpowder club. When did you work for him? I thought his last job was in FTD not phase. Fender Don't tell me what you think, what does the T.O. say. |

Hey, I was stationed at DM from 1978-1982. I was an A10 crew chief with the 333rd Aircraft Maintainence Unit (Lancers) for about a year before moving over to the 357th AMU (Dragons) just about the time Davis-Monthan started getting rid of the older A7 Corsairs. My assigned aircraft was Phantom 309 (75-0309). Do you or anyone know if any of the older 75-0XXX Series aircraft are still flying? Sincerly, Robert Spear |

Hey, Back when I was stationed there, the 358th AMU was known for screwing up a lot. For instance, checking out a landing gear problem without pinning the gear before rasing the landing gear handle. Or the time the BB stackers accidently fired off four rounds across the flight line one weekend which running a gun check. Does that group still exist? |

BB stackers do not do gun checks. Muzzle #$%^&*s do those checks. Fender Hands clear. All switches off, safe or normal. Gun hot or cold? No limit, you bet. |

Hey Fender, I did work for Urban at Pope AFB from 92-94. He was a good FLT Chief. I have gotten in touch with him thru this forum. I worked Panther phase at MB from 84-86. pctech/xA10A crew Chief 9204. |

I was a Phase Inspector at DM from 5/96 to 12/98 working with Steve Stewart, Mark Jensen, Larry Raines, Chris Mulvahill, Dave "Turtle Head" Denton, Dean "Don't call me Queenie" Queen, etc. PCS'd to RAF Alconbury and was on the acceptance inspection team TDY to RAF Bentwaters to transfer the planes to Alconbury. Worked AR shop in those miserable, cold, damp and dark Tab Vees. I heard a rumor that Mark Jensen got a commission, but, have since lost track of him. Anyone know where he is today? I was at D-M from 78-84 in the 333rd AMU. Had one hell of a time and saw a lot of changes over the years. Crewed 75-0275 for a lot of the time before heading off to Nellis. Working for old pros like CMSGT Johnny Davis... "Maintenance Meeting" parties on Friday afternoons that sometimes went till sunup on Saturday... if it gets any better than it was in the late '70s at DM I haven't seen it! Bill Ellsworth |

Looking for a pic from 1977? of a 358th jet at China lake with its gun stuck in the sand. And the one with all three folded up on the back row The gun fired across the ramp was fired by a weapons maintance crew. ALEX JACAOBO AND LARRY GLASINER. |

That makes sense it was 77-0222. I was the CC on that one for 6 months or so when it was in the 333rd... more strange things happened around that Hog than any I've been around. Canopy locking shut... people falling off ladders... cowlings dropping for no reason. I was on the load crew that re-installed the system after a major maint in the gun shop. As we were cranking in the elements, we saw live rounds exiting the drum. However, it was almost midnight on a Friday and we couldn't get an ammo trailer to down-load it, so we marked up the forms to down-load the gun before performing the function check, and followed that up with a note in the pass-on book. I knew and liked the guys on Glasiner's crew, and sorry as can be that it happend to them. They were pulling a weekend standby and that was about the only job they had that Saturday. I guess it just goes to show you what happens when you get in a hurry, don't read the forms, and don't check the pass-on book. Sammy got fired and ended up being in charge of the FOLTA, last I ever saw him he had retired and was working at sears in Myrtle, tried to sell me a TV, I took a pass. |

I am not talking about your crew Reverend, just the one that took the gun out? Also if the gun was in for "major maintenance" where did the ammo come from? If the system was torn down the backshop would have discovered the ammo and removed it. I wasn't there so I am curious how this happned? Now if the only the gun came out for something like a stoppage and the rest of the system reamained in the aircraft it might make sense.
