Homer, you'll notice a LOT of the early Yaks and other Russian manufacturers were this design. They even managed to melt the tail wheels off the first batches before they figured out they needed to go with a tricycle undercarriage for jets.

There is always hope-- only because it's the one thing no one has figured out how to kill... yet.
