It is not new, but good and intresting. One of the writers is Stephen Coonts. He collect for this book some air war stories from WW1 until the Vietnam war. It is one of mine favourite writers.
For making your order by a bookstore easy I write what you need.
Stephen Coonts - War in the Air
isbn: 0-7434-6452-4

If you're looking for something historic & true that tells the story of a bunch of loyal and dedicated pilots who eventually get shafted by the country they helped defend, try

"For your freedom and ours"

Tells the story of the Polish Kosciusko Squadron who fought in the RAF during WW2. They racked up the best RAF kill records of the conflict but weren't allowed to march in the VE day parades 'cos of 'politics' <img src=newicons/spit.gif border=0 align=middle>...

OK, so I'm biased, but it's a damn good read...

Pope,

Have you read the "Right Stuff"?

All about the evolution of military test pilots to be the first Astronauts.

It blew me away and I couldn't stop reading it. An amazing book about amazing men...

But I only have a civilian perspective and those with actual flight time might have a different view.

And another one...

"Let a soldier die"

Not true this one, but about a medivac chopper pilot in 'Nam.

Recommended by my Aussie brother in law who was there as a medic. He said it was pretty true to life.

"the Right Stuff" there is also a great movie about it for the non-readers here. Maybe some countries has it also, I have a book written by Ernst Udet, he flew by the Flying Circus of the Red Baron in WW1 and after that he was a leading figure (before he killed himself in 1940) by the Nazi party. Good stories about his flying period. Non-Nazi propaganda.
Another good book is written by Richard Collier about the Battle of Britian. It called "Eagle Day".

"Yeager" has a lot of "There I was" stories in it, and "The Skunk Works" gives an insider look at the famous Lockheed design team and factory, especially relevant to the F-117.
