Just curious what this apparent hardpoint between the two engine nacelles is, and what it's used for, since the main underwing stores are next to the fuselage...

That was a pylon installed for AIM-9/Air Combat Training (ACTS) pods (formerly called ACMI). The PBR (Pylon, Beam, Rack) Assembly was installed between the fuselage and inboard engines.

A 9mm MAY expand, but a 45 will NEVER shrink!

Do any of you know where I can find on of the Quick load internal racks that were carried on the B-52D.
I am working on a 1/72 Monogram kit and wanted to scratch build these racks so that when you look up in the bomb bay you see more than just a plate with 9 bombs.

What I really need is full size dimensions and photo references.

PS. I am new to this forum and also want to say hello.

you need to "save" this pic so you can zoom in and read it:

and this is a cap from a WAY too often dubbed episode of Wings, they are all MK-82s

I would recommend going to www.arcforums.com if you haven't done so already, since you're more likely to find folks with B-52 experience there. Welcome to the board and good luck!

Damn this thread is like the energizer bunny. I just figured out that this thread started before my first post on the WT.
