There has been some serious "hate talk" against Navy related to this picture....a lot of banter rails against SH violating the 1,000 foot bubble (although there is another frame posted where the pipper is dead center on the Raptor and distance is still 1,000 feet so I think part of noise is avoiding the fact that the SH is offensive at this instant and the Raptor is defensive...BTW, in some cases, it takes two to break the bubble and the judging by the Vc against airspeed, the Raptor is pulling into the SH so both aircraft are at fault there).
I find it interesting that the Raptor has its nose buried so it is likely slow as well and trying to get some smack back on the jet. Otherwise, it would be using it's superior energy against the Super Hornet and be above it...but this is merely conjecture based on a single glimpse into the fight...I'd prefer to hear the story from the pilots involved, but still can't believe the USAF fan club backlash over a Snapshot guns HUD picture. We're all on the same team last I heard.
