Been watching the season, well trying at least. At the Czech stop one pilot flew into one of the pylons. I wish they'd put more of this on the TV.

This is SO much cooler than the ovals at Reno and it isn't ruining Warbirds either like Reno does.

I'm still staggered at them being able to get clearances for this stuff, I think the Czech round was right downtown!!
I think his performance would improve if he would fix that prop problem <img src=newicons/anim_lol.gif border=0 align=middle>

I saw a show last year in the Netherlands, Rotterdam. And it sucks! Everybody do the same tricks, has almost the same speed and there is no fun part in it. Only the show before it was nice with old English Jetfighters and real performers. But is is only mine opinion and everybody had a free mind to think about what he or she want.

The Czech round was over the river that runs thtrough the center of the city. The main airport was in proximity of the course and "special" arrangements were made so that they could fly and compete, but there were some restrictions.

I suppose it was far more interesting to watch on the TV because of the comentary and time compression, not to mention the replays and numerous camera angles. Watching live would drag on a bit between flights, plus heat and humidity, stationary point of view and all that.

I agree that it is much more exciting than the Reno style races. It's cool to see Mustangs and Corsair and such low level and balls out, but it's like comparing NASCAR to Moto GP or F1. Circles/oval don't get ones blood up like watching bikes or cars slicing and dicing in and for the corners. Drafting, passing, late braking and such are great to watch IMO. Freight-training around in circles/ovals like a pack of lemmings doesn't do it for me.

For tv looks this sport as really cool, but live (what I did) is it the worse thing on airspectation and airshows what I ever saw. Another thing, when you see the Blue Angels on tv it looks good, but that is in reallity greater than that. That sound, that speed, that smell and formation flying is a happening you can never discripe to nobody. Some things looks better on tv and some better live.

If you've ever flown in IL-2, you'll see why the Yak is such a good bird.
