Not sure if any of you have seen these, but this is a first for me. Had never seen them on a Viper before. I assume it is probably all/mostly for fuel storage? This is the UAE's version... ![]() |

Useless.. Maintainers Hate them...... waste of man hours ..... Hung vs Conformal's.... Hung wins every time. |

I can see why they would try to use them though..saving hardpoints for weapons load, but there is probably a weight issue that may cause them to be a wash.. another \"sounds good on paper\" idea I suppose... ![]() |

That's the block 60, IIRC. Look it up for more details. Quote: Maintainers Hate them...... waste of man hours It certainly does add to it, since they cover a lot of bays, including the gun. Think taking that thing out now is a pain, I'd hate to try it on one of those.Quote: Hung vs Conformals.... Hung wins every time. I have to wonder though which wins on aerodynamics and G-forces. True you can't pop them if necessary, but they'll not be in the way as much at high speeds and tight maneuvering.

Wouldn't they take the gun out BEFORE instalation? If you can't fire it anyway, why not save the weight?? Seems like the smart thing to do... |

The tank doesn't quite cover the gun port, so it doesn't stop the gun from being used. |
