Seeing some of the comments by Luke and Boomer regarding India, how do you explain their high-accident rate and the poor track record against Pakistan? I'm not bashing India or discrediting your statements, just curious about the apparent discrepency.

General Yeager summed it up for me about india...

he was an Defense attache during the pakistan vs india conflict. Every time the pakis droped a indian, they would fly out and interrogate the indians.....it was a slaughter

if they ever runout of those darn MiG-21s thier rate will get better. I was specifically talking economic/tech/superpower type stuff for India. Everybody sees China as the next in line, I say India will become our major competitor in the future not China. India is making great strides in computers and sattelites (just to name a few) has an historicle apptitude for mathimatics, and a good education system (for some, not all). American computer companies (Dell for one) is outsourcing some of thier phone support to India (spoken to several).

Yeah I read that about General Yeager.........Pakistani's kicked their butts in the air, but it was opposite on the ground..........

I think India's past performances in regards to aerial combat has forced them to make some reforms, not unlike the USAF and USN did after Vietnam..........I do know that in present terms, India has a first rate Navy and Airforce.

I agre, India is absolutely first rate, i just wanted to solicit some professional opinions on the matter.

While they are a 'democracy', they are also pretty tight with the Russians.

I see them as a POTENTIAL threat, and one we need to be prepared for.

Good point, but I doubt the Su-30MKI is really that great. That magical test the USAF did comparing it to the F-15C was just a joke.

I think that whole kill record for the PAF was BS. The Indians were the ones doing the strikes and supporting their ground troops while the PAF seemed more on the run.
