What do you think in general of the Air Force Intelligence career. Can they work directly with weapon and air systems?

Only when ducktaped to a direct munition, their quite effective in that regards..

scares the islam right out of them. SHIIITE!

They make good secretaries for collecting the data at debrief....

All Joking aside. Intel folks on the admin side are the analytical gatherers of information.

Intelligence and intelligence gathering is a very important function in any activity whether its in warfighting or in the fast food buisness. It helps to know if the competitor has a better "Whopper" out on the market.

You interested in this line of work? I say go for it, if it suits your ideal workmethods and mindset.

Intelligence is such a wide field. there the Forensic folks that deal with electronics, photography, engineering, communications.

then there is support guys that shell out, brief, debrief and gather this information for the warfighters.

If you want to get hands on with systems and weapons, I recommend getting into an Engineering Field. Flight test and Aquisition programs are your best bet for your love of aviation. Only then will you actually create the data that the Intell folks file away for safe keeping.

With all joking aside, being strapped to a GBU and then ulimately vaporized by AFX-757/H-6/Tritonal/PBX-109/AFX 777 is a GREAT way to go!

Sweet, I love that kind of stuff.
Am I in a dark room staring at the computer all day?
It's either that or bomber navigator(WSO).

My feeling is that I rather be in a dark room, staring at a computer... going 600mph at a height of a hundred feet(God Bless the B-1).

Thanx for the G2 sir.

If you for some reason the BS politics decide you are not pilot material then go into Being a systems officer.

WSO is a good Job. And your there in the fight. Ive done both Front and Back seat time in F15E and F18D. Its a good experiance. Even have 6 months of backseat F4G time.

The point im makeing is the Intell Guys are admin types. they are not warriors.

Its a blast to be in a Multi B1, F15E, f16. Tornado package conducting a deep strike mission. High speed, low level, Mucho threats.

Ive never cared for the Cloud chaseing Missions. F15C community bored a wired up guy like me. I found no challenge in it

A real pilot flys low and hits the enemy hard.

It requires allot more G2, Strategy and sheer guts to do this in bad weather and not freindly conditions.

True Lies, where the bad dude gets hung on the rocket on the Harrier's wing. Arnold says "You're fired!" and shoots the missile at the helicopter through the hollowed out 23rd floor of the building.

I agree, the low level/high speed flight has always appealed to me as well.
I'm guessing flying in the heavens as the Eagle drivers do is good for watching sunsets/rises as well.

Systems officer has always appealed to me more than pilot; I guess I'm different. That, and my eyes are shot(I'm near-sighted)

I love ordnance systems(everyone knows that). I wonder if farther in my career that I could transition to a job at Eglin in their explosive dynamics lab - think they have intell. or systems officer attachments at the High Explosive Research Lab? I think I'll call them.

All good stuff, Thanx.

ok this has got me going, I've been look a AF carriers other than pilots to see if there are anyting more appelying or if my eye sight get any worse, I'm with in limits. I was thinking about analysis of flight systems but maybe dealing with other countires air forces, there are such jobs right? I also do think I would care to focus on to one flight system but more of the aircraft in general.

How do you know people weren't laughing?
It was a groaner.

I believe the AFOQT doesn't have a grammar section, so he doesn't have to worry.

FlyBoy, why don't you want to work for the USAF? It doesn't get any better than that... But the iraqi AF may need some help in the R&D department

How do you "hear" on the forum?
Br, do you hear voices in your head?

And, it wasn't a joke as much as it was sarcasm.
