That may be a question for A10 Stress. But I think it is probably a "you cant get there from here" type of question. By this time tomorrow I shall have gained either a pearage or Westminster Abbey........Nelson |

There were never enough B-1B's built to replace the B-52's. It would be far too expensive to build more so it ca't happen the B-52 will probably die before it even has a replacement leaving the mission to fighter assets in greater numbers. |

Its a TURD with wings. Working on it is like working on a fighter on staroids. live to wrench, wrench to live and 727's do truly suck |

All I can remember is Bones crashing every other week in the late eighties. Remember a tour of McComnnell back in 1990 and they had like 3 Bones that could fly...the others were can birds. Friends were coming off 3-4 year tours in theat airplane with like 200-250 hours. They never flew. Besides the maintenance issues, I don't think the Bone can carry as much/varied ordnance. I would think it's way too expensive to replace the B-52 with the overhead-ontensive B-1... ATTACK!!!!!!! |

I heard they 'solved' the DAS problems by not turning it on... LOL "One should die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche |
