Did anyone catch the reporter talking about witnessing what the A-10 can do. It was awesome... "This is literally a ferocious aircraft. They can fire something like six thousand rounds a minute. They can just shred a tank." He had just mentioned how A-10's are used to "prepare" the battlefield. Ugh.

I was lucky enough to speak with a "government" employee who is the father of a friend of mine. This was years ago but I'll but go back for anyone interested. He was in Iraq/Kuwait just after that little skirmish (wouldn't tell me why) and my friend introduced me to him like this: "Hey dad he likes the A-10 too."

A wry smile developed and he went for some photos. One made my jaw drop. It was a picture of a hole through a tanks armor. An A-10 round went through that thing like it was a sheet of newspaper.

He told me he had heard that Iraqi's were terrified of the A-10 as there was no way to live through an attack by one. The above quote from that reporter shows the awe-inspiring experience of an A-10 in reality. It must be incredible.

We're fortunate to have this warrior on our side. Go get 'em, ugly!

my PC HDD crashed i lost everything, and bin looking for the site since - found it again last year

if ur talking about the other forums (biohazard, simhq + lomac) well - as im an avid fan of the Hog since 1985, i've been looking forward to someone releasing a Hog sim since Janes/EA decided to drop their sim a couple of years back..

Hello, I feel a part of history in this war. My father was the 1st combat ready pilot for the A-10. Unfortunatly he crashed in 1976. 4 months after 1st delivery of the A-10. His name was Capt. Richard Hopkins Rogers, USAF. He was an honored graduate of The Citadel.

It is an honor to see the Warthog deployed in Iraq, defending America and its ideals. My father would be proud to know that he died for a very important cause.

Is it common to use the HEI round? I assume it would be shock and awe for soft targets!

I thought that the DPU AP round was used mostly, or do they take into account the types of targets that you plan to encounter, and then load accordingly?

In shotguns and handguns, I have seen some who like to alternate types of rounds (i.e. 00 buck and slug shells), Is this type of technique ever employed in the A-10?

The API and HEI rds are normally mixed, though i can't remember the ratio.

It is referred to as 'party mix'.
