Hi all, just thought I'd share a few shots I took on a recent visit to RAF Lakenheath. I was fortunate to have a few hours on base along with Don Logan and he brought the sun over from Kansas, which was nice!

Nothing special, just some landing shots, as we didn't get the opportunity to visit their ramp unfortunately.

New to this forum and thought an intro was in order as I don't want to be a lurker on this site.

I'm Neil Dunridge and like Gunsmoke (got a few names Kev!) I am a photographer first and a reluctant writer second. My web site is at http://njd-photography.co.uk , shots of OIF aircraft during my stay at AUAB and OEF with the Navy on carriers. The tanker sortie I was going to get A-10 OEF shots of turned out to be a night mission.

Below are a few shots of the 81st in Wales during their welcome stay at the 48th FW. Hoping to make it to Hawgsmoke this year.

Nice shots Gunsmoke, I always love how clear and sharp your photos are, which can make an A-10 “just landing” something special. I guess if you can freeze a 30mm slug leaving the A-10 barrel anything is possible with you.

So Don brought over some sunshine…..looks like just barley.

Neil, welcome to the best A-10 forum on the net…and nice pictures yourself.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome, Ice Pirate I use a Canon 30D with a Canon 120 - 300mm F2.8 for the miserable weather we get a lot over here.

I wondered what the horns were on the book/folder/map, thanks for clearing that up majormadmax.

That 207 pic is about the cleanest active duty jet I've ever seen. Must've flown through a rainstorm.

Great shots Neil, good to see you contributing here. :)

I think they'd recently received 207 from Eielson back then, and the Alaskan jets always seemed clean to me, must be the climate!
