| Post subject: | Barksdale to Interview for Reserve A-10 UFT Positions |
From BaseOps...any of you guys wanting to move up to the big game, this is your chance! Quote: We will be interviewing for multiple A-10 UFT positions. We'll try to sponsor about four candidates a year for the foreseeable future. I'm going to get this out to the accessions recruiters in the next couple days.
Good luck. ........................................................................................................... The 47th Fighter Squadron, Air Force Reserves at Barksdale AFB, in Bossier City, LA is accepting resumes from individuals interested in attending Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT) and becoming A-10 Attack pilots. The 47th Fighter Squadron is currently a Formal Training Unit that employs only experienced A-10 instructor pilots, but is slated by BRAC to become an operational combat unit in 2010. With this transition to an operational role, the 47th will begin sponsoring candidates for selection by the Air Force Reserve Command to attend UFT. Competitive applicants will demonstrate a desire to serve their country as an officer in the Air Force Reserve. Sponsored candidates will be selected based on Education, Character, Aviation Aptitude, and Demonstrated Leadership and Officer Potential. If interested, submit an application package including: --Cover Letter (with your contact information and email address) --Resume --Summary of Flying Ratings and Experience (if applicable) --Summary of Military Test Scores (AFOQT, TBAT, PCSM) if completed --Copy of College Transcript(s) --Copy of DD Form 214 (if prior military) --Copy of last two performance appraisals (if current military) --Two Letters of Recommendation --Full Length Photograph Sponsored candidates will need to meet selection criteria outlined in AFRCI 36-3602. The 47th will be conducting interviews in the April ’08 time frame with a goal of submitting sponsored applicants for formal selection by AFRC in September ’08. If selected by HQ AFRC, candidates will attend Officer Training School (unless already a commissioned officer), Initial Flight Screening (IFS), Survival Training, Undergraduate Flight Training (UFT), Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals (IFF), and the A-10 Formal Training Unit (FTU). Once commissioned, candidates can expect to spend approximately two years in continuous training to become a qualified AF Reserve pilot. Submit application package electronically and address any questions to: Brady.Glick@Barksdale.af.mil Or mail to: LTC Brady Glick 1041 Davis Avenue East Barksdale, AFB LA 71110 |
