Ok this might sound strange , but I'm going to show my Age here,

When I was a Young \"Crew Pup\" at Scott AFB We had \"2\" what they called \"Major events happen\"

They were \"The first ALL female CT-39A Crew, AC,CP and Crew Chief\" had the \"Mac ATTACK\", AF Times, Airman Mag out there taking pictures the WHOLE \"PR\" thing, then in the fall of 82 they had the 1st ever \"ALL FEMALE C-9A Med-Vac\" mission\"
Both pilots were females along with the \"Flt Mech\" and the entire Medical Crew all female with a \"Female\" crew chiefs Jet and launching it.
Another \"BIG PR\" event.
Now I know they've done the C-5, C-141,C-130 etc... MAC PR events during the 80's.

But I got out before I ever saw a \"Female Fighter Pilot\" in a Squadron.

Now When I was at \"EAFB La\" my pilot \"Goose\" was assigned to 0166 by \"LTC COOPER\" due to me being called \"Goose\". Actually jumped over a pilot or 2 to be assigned to 0166 for that to happen.

Now the question is \"Has a FS\" ever assigned a Jet you know of with a \"Female Pilot, DCC and ACC or the first 2 atleast\"?For the same \"Reasons or PR or whatever?\"Making it the 1st \"All Female A-10 Aircraft crew, F-15, F-16 ETC....?

I'm an ORF too, and saw some of the first female bomb loaders when I was at DM.

I think these days, as women are much more readily accepted in almost all areas of the AF, I'd doubt that most see something like that as such a milestone any more.

I'm sure it has happened, afterall, you're only talking a pilot and a crew chief.

I thought from the title you were referring to pairing any chief with a pilot. Made me wonder how that would go, always launching the same guy, always seeing the same chief's name in the forms, etc.

I'll bet it would be a motive for murder if there ever was one, from what I've seen and heard.

It was something I was exposed to and saw first hand in the early 80's.
Remember the early USAF had a \"Crew Chief\" assigned a Aircraft and a Pilot was assigned to that Aircraft and Only FLEW that aircraft in the early days.

Now we still had \"Dedicated Crew Chiefs\"(What it really was) and we took care of are own jet. If our jet was there, we worked it. If it went TDY and your ACC went instead of you then you \"Floated\". Our Shifts (Days /Nights) DCC on one the ACC on the other and would actually move the ACC's around due to manning and re-assign them to a new jet. The DCC's would usually \"Work it out due to rank and Preference. I never liked Days so that was a \"No brainier\"my ACC was always on Days.
But if everything was covered, you got \"Cut-back\" first, If your Jet was Broke you Stayed! That was the \"LAW OF THE LAND\" in the 76th AMU but everyone knew that and \"Wanted to stay , IT WAS YOUR JET.

But MAC would \"Switch things around for a \"PR\" EVENT to have an \"All Female crew\", I think SAC did the same thing with the KC-135 and KC-10 If I remember right in the 80's also.

Op's though back to the 76th would \"Try and team-up Pilots with their Jets\" when possible.
That how I remember the A-10 line.

This is all crap. I have always gone under the rule once in uniform there is no male or female just airman. You do the job that you where trained for and thats it. Now out of uniform cool but on duty no differance.

You have to look at the time frame I was talking about,
\"The early 80's\" you didn't have that many Female pilots, I worked T-39's and that was the \"Heavy's\" trainer for pilots and navigators.

We had just gotten the Sections \"First Female crew chief in 1982\", now the back shops had a few specialist's , but only 1 that worked on engines on the line, and Patty could put Any Guy to shame working on a JP-60.

The C-9's had 2 Female Crew Chiefs, one was a Flight Mech. Thats pretty RARE out of 200 personnel squadron. Now its not but then it was.

So yes its a \"Bunch of Crap\" but look what was happening then in the services, Women still couldn't serve in \"Combat Related \" fields Social Actions wasn't that old.

So it was the \"Times\" now its a Different era, but I never ever saw a Female Fighter pilot it happened after my time.

But it doesn't matter the \"Sex\" as long as you do your job. The USAF has come along way.

MAC was so \"OVER THE TOP\" with these \"PR\" events it was [puke] . Being at MAC HQ's too didn't make things any better. Every time you turned around they were \"Staging PR\" events for something or another if it was the \"All Female Crews\" it was because the \"CINCMAC \" was going to Langley AFB and shot a good round of Golf.

But teaming up \"Crews by Gender\" was that \"A PR EVENT\"
