Sorry for the delay in posting an update, but I managed to perform the internet equivalent of locking my keys in the car. Long story, but thanks to Goose, Dice-man and Sniper for helping me get it all straightened out.
I just received proofs back of my profile art, and they look great! For the record, the prints are printed on a Durst Theta 76 HS, which is a special commercial-grade fiber-optic LED printer. These printers don't spray ink on paper: they expose Fujifilm Crystal photo paper with LED's, with the end result that the image possesses all of the resolution and archival qualities of a photographic print. You won't see any dots, and you shouldn't see any fading in a well-cared for print for over a hundred years. The final print size is 10 inches by 30 inches, which I will ship rolled. (Because shipping flat art is a fool's game) Here's a couple samples:
I'm asking 100 bucks for a custom print, with a substantial discount for multiple orders. (50 bucks for each additional custom print, or twenty bucks for duplicates. I'm happy to haggle over larger orders. Most of my time is in the research, so if you have a half dozen planes from the same unit you want done, I can probably make you a better deal. Just ask.) If you want ladder door or nose art on the profile, you MUST give me a decent photo of the art. Otherwise, just give me any decent photos you have...I'm especially looking for tail and front port quarter pix. I'll need to know the names and serial numbers on the placards. I'll work with whatever you have, but the more you give me, the more accurate the profile will turn out.
You don't pay until the final art is approved, at which time I will ship. You can pay via Paypal (which accepts all major credit cards) or by snailmail. Turn around time should be around 2-3 weeks, depending on my workload. If you are not happy with the print, send it back within thirty days and I'll refund your money.
Feel free to PM or email me with any questions. If for some reason you have trouble reaching me via email from this site, you can always find me through my own website at
