Saw this on AF.mil (where else?). It is a picture of the oldest A-10 in service in Europe. I don't know if somebody of you knows a nice story of this plane. If you have, hope you will share it with us.

I can't believe an \"80\" model HOG is considered \"Old\", and what makes it such a \"Noteworthy \" thing to point out? I guess they have nothing better to write about.

The majority of our jets at Moody are 78s and 79s.

Most of these \"Old\" jets are newer than the \"82\" models with the Up grades, new wings etc....., Hours really don't seem to matter anymore.
Look at the \"BUFF\", you think they care about Hours?

If the \"Old Girl\" is flying , give her a face lift, some \"Lipo suction\" and \"Implants\" and she'll look \"20 years Old again\" [lol] 8)

That jet is certainly not the oldest at Spang..

It looks like they are finally out of the keyholes and on the CAS Ramp...finally.

The oldest at Spang would be 76-550, a ground trainer.
281 began its career at Bentwaters with the 92nd TFS 'Skulls'

Ground trainers don't count.

Taking into account the no ground trainers rule, there is 78-701 and 79-207 transferred in from Eielson last year.

I think every squadron out there has at least a couple of 78's and 79's. Not sure, but I think so.

When I was last year, I sat in the only green ground trainer in the hangar of Spangdahlem. It was the 76-553. And yes, the seat was good :D
