Again I ask what the hell is up with these guys?? I hear nothing about them in the news around the net and I just visited their (188th) website and it still has F-16s on the main page?? What the heck...not proud of flying the Hog? God if the sites support team is to busy to update their page I'll do it for them. It's like the A-10s sent there have dropped off the face of the earth to everyone except for people who work at the base or \"inside\" ACC or the SPO. |

Dice, we had a few troops move down there during the BRAC, both traditional guardsmen and full timers. We get some info through the grapevine. I'll be honest, Barnestormers are kinda high strung. We were a pretty proud bunch, maybe to much but we think we were at the top of the heap. But our guys and gals that went down there, went with open minds to try and do good and impart some knowledge that they earned. Hell, I wanted to go there but it was just to far from the family. Anyway, I am pretty confident that we get good info from our guys and gals and unfortunately it isnt good. I hope its all wrong but I dont get that wag. From what I hear, there full timers, AGR's and technicians are leaving because they dont like the jets or the mission. They were going to get shut down on the first round of the BRAC because they were a poor unit, plain and simple. They failed or did poorly on there ORE's and ORI's. You know as well as I do that that is the measuring stick as inefficient as it can be. Nonetheless they were and are a poor unit from every way I look at it. And to make it worse the rotten bastards have my jet ! ( sorry Goose, I meant our jet) And I am sure they aren't rotten bastards. That was added for the literary affect because I am still not happy about having F-15's. |

Quote: I guess you're right. Thing is I know how easy it is to post a pic, come on, update the rest of the page later but, put the A-10 on you main page for God sakes.
And the wing commander might want to write a new welcome. It's still all about \"Electric jets\". OC |

That site hasn't been updated in almost three years. To add on to Hawg166's post, I know one or two AD guys that got out and went to that unit. Lots of Hog experience and knowledge to pass on. I don't have first hand knowledge, but the feedback I heard from them wasn't good. Didn't seem too many people there wanted to hear from them. I hope that'll change in the future. I imagine there will be some growing pains given the huge change in mission. A few motivated individuals can turn that place around and it'll be that much easier if the rumors about old heads leaving is true. There are so many motivated people out there that want to fly this magnificent aircraft. Not appreciating it is a shame. |

Seems to me their leadership are the first ones who need to get behind the Hog. |

And after reading some of these comments, that is what pi$$es me off so much about BRAC and all of the crap that goes with it......of course I'm bitter simply because our PA ANG is losing the A-10s, but they are proud, hard working bunch (I don't know specifically about the ORE/ORIs) that essentially the US Armed Forces becomes 'weaker' without.......it just makes no sense what so ever. But enough has been written and said about it all....it's just every time I see it or hear it mentioned, it just fires me up! |

Well why don't we have a \"Reveres \" BRAC If you CAN'T CUT THE CRAP, then \"We'll RE-BRAC\" Back They had no problems. But you know Really they should of given the Snoopy to the \"LawnDarts\" Guys, it's more their Style and Let the \"Hog Keepers\" play in the Mud. They love it! So what happens if the \"Shit hits the Fan\" and they Need Every HOG?????? I guess you guys Billy will pick up the Birds En route and I'm sure their is \"100's of Hog Drivers\" that have \"Mud Stains\" that will be there to \"Fly\"them. What a \"Rainbow\" unit! I'll chase parts or some \" Maggot Job\" I have 90 days of Pills! It would be worth it Goose Goose |
