I remember as a kid seeing a table in front of an A-10 at an airshow with some dummy 30x173 rounds for sale. I dont remember why I didnt get one... Now I am looking for one again. This past weekend there was an air expo locally here with a Maryland A-10 on display and when I asked the pilot about dummy rounds he said he usually brings a couple to shows but didnt bring any this time... So where can I get one? Ive finally fully moved into my apartment and finished setting up my \"cool aircraft stuff\" display shelf, but its lookin pretty bare in the A-10 department... I want the full thing with the projectile, not a fired casing... shade |

WHO IS THE AMMO EXPERT? I WAS A LOADER AT DM 357th & 358th AND AT ENGLAND with the 76TH. BUT I HAVE 4 RDS THAT I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ARE . THE CASES ARE RED AND THE PROJECTILES ARE PURPLE. THE CASES ARE MARKED 28108351 REV D 30MM TP (OL-02-03-75) ALONG WITH 30 MM 28109509 USE -1-3-75 THE RDS ARE MARKED (AJD-40-2-78) I HAVE TWO SPENT CASES AND TWO OTHER CASES WITH PROJECTILES |

CARL! THOSE ARE ALL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO KEEP AS THEY ARE KNOWN TO LEAK TOXINS INTO THE AIR YOU BREATH. Yeah, that's the ticket. Look buddy, I have a good friend out at EOD, soooooooooo why don't you just ship those off to yer old buddy Frank and I'll see to it that they are...Properly Disposed of. 
Seriously though, I've seen pics of shell with red casings before but never handled them myself. All the ones I ever saw at DM were black with blue projectiles. It may just be a different manufacturer. |

I can;t find the thread, but me and Lil Hitler spoke here once about how the 30mm the 75th used when we were in Bagram 2002 was red shelled. That was the only time I've ever seen non-green shells. |

WE HAD A FEW EVERY NOW AND AGAIN DURING DESERT STORM THAT HAD A PALE BLUE CASE THEY WERE MIXED IN WITH THE GREEN CASES I FAILED TO GET A SPENT ONE OF THOSE BLUE ONE. I THINK THE RED ONES ARE A HIGH PRESSURE TEST ROUND, I FORGOT TO ADD THAT THEY DO HAVE HP STAMPED IN THE CASE ON THE PRIMER END |
