Hey epkpctech, I remember the club at Sembach rather well. Red Star round-up every Tuesday if I remember correctly. I remember (barely) stumbling/walking/falling down the hill to billeting. Had a great time there.

RED STAR ROUNDUP! Now that brings back the memory cells that I killed! Nothing like a red star and Apple Corn. You remember the rock nights that we had there too? I use to hang with another hog CC/eng troop by the name of Wayne Davis. Bill Lemmon lives in NJ now with both of his kids.

I'll try to dig up some old pics that I took from the hill off of B-40 just off the runway.

Yeah, I remember (again, barely) rock night. We used to bring cases of beer and bottles of Apple Corn back to RAF B/W in the travel pods. Usually had 1 or 2 dedicated to the crew chiefs. You know, the last time I drank "to-kill-ya" was in April of '88 at the club. Like to see those pics. Did a month at Ramstein last year. Brought back a group of memories. Our normal det was Norvenich, but Sembach was a great change of pace. Always liked you guys there.

Hey Phaseman. Glad to hear from you. I take it that your ouster was Red Star induced?

Hello M&M! (Thanks!) My old unit, the 652 CLSS, moved out there from McClellan several years ago. I heard that they were redesignated. I did some egress work when I was in F-117 Flight Test as crew chief! I assisted THE egress guy. He did all the ballistic stuff but I (and just about everybody else) did the seat pinning, raised the seat, etc. That was something I'd never done before I got there. That took a different level of concentration. You only get 1 chance!

The people that were at the BACH were a strange bunch. I remember the Rec center club, and the cardboard pizza. How about the cones that you had to drive thru to get off base? Just once I wanted to drive straight thru them. Remember the Gast House in Sembach village? I can't remember the name but everyone use to call the old lady that owned the place Mom. How about the "Blue Lite"? Remember that place. Meat market city.

It's great to remember that place! Any one up for a Meter board!!!

Wow, sounds a lot like Spang today. We have a bar in Speicher, right next to the Irish Pub that many maintainers (and SPs...go figure) frequent, and everyone calls the bartender there Mom. Instead of cones, we have barricades, though. Not as much fun to drive through...

Hey Raven,

Have a Pils on me! I will always remember that the perfect beer takes 7 min's to draw. I bet you get out to the local Imbus for a Shnitzel sandwich and soda. I wish I was back there working on the jets and having a REAL beer! but not at the same time.

Yup! I usually stick to the Heffewiezen when I am out at the pub, myself. I try to steer clear of the Pils because most of teh local brews produce undesired effects in the AM...and I am not just talking a hangover!
