Ok ,I'm from South Africa and would like to get a few opinons Our military forces suck! nobody can deny that! hell, we must have THE worst navy on the planet and our air force consists of basically 50's-70's aircraft and ground forces of locally made armour, so ,how is it we sold point defence missiles to a 5-Generation (Or something like that) stealth ship project in europe????? apparently these thing can nail stealty cruise missiles ? is this true ? how'd we make that? Did I miss something? |

The Rooivalk and the Kfir-hybrid aren't good designs? I've always been impressed with their small-arms and wheeled fighting vehicles. I believe they even developed the scramshell (which is an integral part of my fantasy to design and field modern, nuclear powered, steel-sided, 16-inch gun X four turret-armed Montana-type battleships). Looks like I came to the right place! I don't know if our mirage 3 conversion ,which I assume you mean by the KIFR is all that good, we recently had an air show here with Overseas aircraft from all over the world coming here! Those F-15's and F-16's kick ass! they did some serious displays here! the mirage was ok but nothing like them. Even the B1 bomber they had here did some pretty damn impressive manuvering! Another question ,We have on the Rooivalk a hellfire type missile called the Mokopa I've got some fact and figures but how does this match up to the hellfire itself? Do you know anything about its effectiveness?? I assume since we can turn out those point defence missiles these should be ok? Only having 12 Rooivalks probably means they can't afford to train with live missiles though. An Interesting fact I picked up, One of the USA's Nuclear carriers has more displacement than our entire navy(Not that that's saying much) Has more aircraft than our entire airforce (Not to mention much better) but strangly (For me) only costs 1 years defence spending of south africa for the ship, and another years for the planes. |

Yes thats right! I assume he meant our attempt at making that plane , the cheetah ,its a similar idea ,ours has a larger nose cone though. By the way ,good job on Iraq! ,that guy just HAD to go don't worry about all this public opinon going around ,I think thats just political correctness having its usual panic session. Most people I talk to agree ,Saddam had to go ,and anyway he did it to himself,all he had to do was co-operate. You'll find there's even french and germans that agree... well I'll stop bugging you guys here now... Bye. |

New VA class of subs will be pushing 1.3 billion taxbucks or more. Think a Nimitz class carrier is over 4 billion taxbucks. Few billion or more for the Air Wing. O man were talking serious bucks. E model Hercs worldwide are being parked because of wing cracks and corrosion. Warthogs will probably be retired early because they have been rode pretty hard lately. Jack Jack |

Just found something interesting... have to bug you all again.. There is a program running in the USA to develop a light tank Fielding the A-10's main gun as its primary weapon ,so they will have an All-rounder ,A tank that is equally good at Air defence as it is at dealing with groung forces. Now another surprise from me, they are considering producing a version with the 75mm cannon from the Rooikat (That 8 wheeled armoured car of ours) on it,apparently this gun is highly effective More so that the "Upgraded" version with a 105mm for export. (Apparently nobody bought the Idea of our 75mm) It fires a new type of Sabot round developed for it at 200m/s faster than the M1A2's sabot round!! They are also considering developing their own version which fires a round at 3000m/s vs the 75mm's 1600m/s!! This is so cool ,when your country is turning out stuff like this with the best of them!! and part of projects like this kinda make you feel like part of the family!! in a weird way..
