Sometimes I wonder why I collect A-10 stuff and maintain my website. I don’t expect much just a thank you and I’m happy. Had a LT. With the A-10 SPO contact me wanting some A-10 videos. I emailed him a few videos along with links to the videos on my site. Never heard from him again after he got what he wanted…not even a thanks Joe. Msgt contacted me needing to find an A-10 model for a retirement, only had two weeks to get one. Emailed him with links to model sites but the delivery time on all were 4-6. I offered to buy the one at the Hill Museum and ship it to him…never heard a word back..not even a thank you for trying and offering to ship one.

This is only two examples of 6 this month alone. I do collect and maintain my site for my own pleasure but, damn, is a thanks you to much to ask? Sorry for the rant but what happen to old fashion manners?? [cuss] [cuss]

Thanks for sharing, Joe.

Just more evidence of the \"Me\" attitude/disease. Personally, I can hardly wait to thank you for that autographed copy of your A-10 DoorArt/History book. [banana]

Joe

Most people are assholes, and some of them slip into the Hawg community on occassion; but you know we all love ya and that you are appreciated here!

Cheers! M2

Dice, I know what you mean but it comes with the website (at least the emails) I receive a lot of them from people asking questions that with a little research they could easily find the answer for themselves. The one that really got my gall lately was a LT. who was researching the regulations on Ladder Door art (wow isn’t that one of our favorite subjects); at first, I considered sending him the reference but reconsider. Reason; I’m sure this young LT. was graciously given the opportunity to excel in his research ability, instead he attempted to take the easy way out and contact a website which is owned and operated by someone he doesn’t know and has never met. Moral of the story, while we like to help everyone, sometimes were better off just saying NO, not for our sake but so that those individuals can learn to do things on their own.

On a lighter side, I have responded to some requests that have resulted in a reply that contained a thank you note and those are the people that we cherish and make up for all those who never do.

You bother because like most of us, you care.
I also did some graphic editing for one of the ( to remain nameless)posters here and sent him the file, and never heard another word. I don't even know if he ended up using it or not.
Just shrug them off and know that the ones that matter appreciate you...

SALUTE!!

And thanks for maintaining this site and sharing what you know... it makes it fun for the rest of us!

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone.

30mm, book is still in work, I basically have the “book” part done now it comes down to getting all the door images put together with the data I have on each. Thanks M2. Hitler, you’re right and I may end-up starting to say no sometime…let them eat static. You’re welcome HogDog.

I'll just say \"Thank-you\" again Joe for inviting me here how many years ago??? Plus your website I've sent alot over there who wanted to know about the \"A-10\"

But your right, you BUST YOUR ASS for someone to help them with a problem, whether its A-10 related, Union, VA Benefits etc.... you have done all the RESEARCH, GATHERED ALL THE FACTS they get what they wanted, it helps them and 99% of the time you NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN.

But you don't do it for the \"Bow at my feet and \"Praise Me\" NO, just a simple
\"Thanks\" or a \"Thanks If I can ever return the favor\" .

Its that \"1%\" that mean it from their HEART Joe that counts.

(That reminds me I have to mail out some stuff to you)

I think most of us know that feeling.

But I expect MORE FROM A MSGT, He could of said \"Thanks for trying\" and you would of sent out the word and We all know links where we could of \"Hooked him up\" in less then a week (if he was willing to pay the extra charge).
The Lt , I expect more from them too being an officer. If one of the \"Hog Drivers\" found out about Him \"Dissing the Diceman\" I bet you'd get an \"EXTREME THANK-YOU\"

BUT 2 WEEKS !!!!!!! Come on How long ago did they know he was retiring?

My Thanks To YOU JOE! and EVERYONE OUT THERE! for everything you do everyday to make it a better place!

Goose

Hey, as a civilian, I appreicate the heck out of this and all A-10 sites. I don't get to see them up close nor do I get access to the guys and planes. So keep on doing what you do. For some of us geeks out there, this is the best we can do.
